01	Cookies, briefly	A cookie is a small record that a website asks your browser to keep. Many sites use cookies for log-ins, statistics or advertising. This site uses none of those; it sets a single cookie for a single, plain purpose.
02	The one cookie	Name: hcbz. Value: yes. Purpose: to remember that you pressed OK on the notice at the bottom of the home page or the not-found page, so the notice does not appear again. It is set only after you press OK, applies to the whole site (path /), uses SameSite=Lax, and lasts 34,560,000 seconds, which is 400 days. It holds no name, no identifier and nothing that could track you. As with every cookie, your browser sends it back to this site with your page requests.
03	What the site does not use	There are no analytics cookies, no advertising or retargeting cookies, no social-media widgets and no embedded maps or videos. The site also does not use local storage or session storage. Fonts, the style sheet and the scripts all come from this domain, so no other company sets a cookie through these pages.
04	Why there is a notice at all	Strictly speaking a cookie that only remembers a closed notice does not need your consent, but we would rather tell you plainly what the site stores than say nothing. The notice has one button, OK. If you never press it, the cookie is never set, the notice simply shows on each visit to the home page, and every page of the site still works.
05	What is not in the cookie	The cookie does not contain your IP address, the pages you read, the time of your visit or anything that identifies you or your device. It is the same for every visitor who pressed OK, so it cannot be used to recognise one person among others. Nothing is read from it by any outside company, because no outside company runs code on these pages.
06	Other sites	The notes link to publishers' websites. Those sites have their own cookies and their own policies, which apply once you have followed a link and left this site.
07	Removing the cookie	You can delete hcbz at any time in your browser's settings under site data or cookies. The only effect is that the notice shows again on your next visit to the home page. The site works the same way with or without it.
